FAQ

Q: Can I use KORE natural™ Probiotic products on my cat?
A: Yes! Our products are very safe to use on cats. Fragrances are ok to use as well. However, some cats have a skin sensitivity to perfumes, so we recommend the more hypoallergenic unscented option for use on felines and other sensitive species.

Q: What is the benefit to using probiotics on my pet?
A: The skin is home to trillions of bacteria, some good and some bad. The good bacteria serve as the first line of defense against the environmental damage and inflammation commonly associated with excessive shedding, itching, dryness, infection and odor. When applied to the skin, probiotics make it difficult for harmful bacteria to take over and allow the good bacteria to flourish, producing a noticeably healthier-looking skin and coat.

Q: Do the probiotics in KORE natural™ skin care products have any direct effect on my pets health?
A: No, the probiotics in our skin care products do not directly treat, prevent or cure any ailment or disease. Nor do they directly benefit the skin or any other organ. Our probiotics are designed to support and help maintain the naturally occuring beneficial bacteria that live on the surface of the skin. Proper and regular use will allow the host animal to enjoy all the benefits of a properly supported and maintained naturally occurring beneficial bacterial community.

Q: If the beneficial bacteria are naturally occuring, why do they need to be supported with a topical probiotic?
A: The skin biome is passed down from mother to offspring and is constantly evolving over the course of a pet’s life. Environment, interaction with nature and lifestyle impact the makeup and health of the skin’s biome. Prior to modern times, animals were genetically suited to their specific environment. Today we choose our animals more for cosmetic value and/or temperament than whether or not they are well suited to the local climate and restrict their interaction with nature in an effort to keep our homes clean. Increased reliance on anti-bacterial cleaners complicate things further and make it more difficult to re-establish or maintain beneficial bacteria that would typically be supported through exposure to nature. Topical probiotics allow owners and pets to have the best of both worlds: a clean environment and naturally supported biome.

Q: What are some of the benefits of a healthy skin biome?
A: Benefits include prevention of infection, rehydration of dry and flaky skin, relief of sores, hotspots, inflammation and itch, repair and prevention of hair loss, matting and excessive shedding, restoration of coat’s texture and shine and an improved natural odor control. Animals with skin conditions related to an imbalance in the skin’s biome will experience issues less frequently, for a shorter duration and recover more quickly.

Q: When will I start noticing a difference in my pet’s skin and coat?
A: You will notice an immediate difference in the look and feel of your pet’s skin and coat, due to the intense hydrating properties of the probiotic and avocado oil. (Plus, they will smell AMAZING if you are using one of our scented products!)  You can expect to see continued improvement in the look and feel of your pet’s skin and coat for up to four weeks as the skin’s resident beneficial bacteria recover and the biome returns to its natural state.

Q: Do KORE natural™ Probiotics cure, treat or prevent any diseases?
A: No, our unique probiotic blend supports the good bacteria that live on the skin’s surface.  Beneficial bacteria serve as the first line of defense against environmental damage and inflammation commonly associated with excessive shedding, itching, dryness, infection and odor. When applied to the skin, probiotics make it difficult for harmful bacteria to take over and allow the good bacteria to flourish.

Q: Do I have to use all KORE natural™ Probiotic products or can I use some mix and match with other brands/products?
A: You can use KORE natural™ Probiotic products with non-probiotic products, but it is important that the last product you use contains the probiotic. Our daily-use Deodorizer and the leave-in Detangler are great solutions for use on an animal that has been previously groomed with a non-probiotic product. However, the complete program is highly recommended for animals with specific conditions related to a disruption of the skin’s natural flora, such as excessive shedding, dander, hot-spots, infection and odor or anyone looking to provide their loved one with the absolute best!

Q: Are your products ever tested on animals?
A: Never! We never test any of our products on animals and are proud to be a certified cruelty-free company!

Q: Are any ingredients not listed on the label?
A: All of our grooming products feature a complete ingredient list, including the exact strains of probiotics.

Q: I see your products have avocado oil. Isn’t avocado dangerous for dogs?
A: No, not for dogs. However, avocado leaves, fruit, seeds and bark can be toxic to horses, cattle, goats and birds.  Ingesting an actual avocado can cause stomach upset in some dogs, but the pit is the biggest worry, because it can cause obstruction. The amount of persin in the avocado oil used in most grooming products is undetectable and poses no adverse health risk to dogs, horses or humans. In fact, it is commonly used in many different dog foods as a good source of Omega-3 and 6!

Q: Do topical probiotics act as a digestive aid?
A: No, our unique probiotic blend and delivery system are specifically designed to support the good bacteria that live on the skin’s surface and will harmlessly pass through the animal if ingested.
